W. W. Thorne Stadium, Aldine ISD

How Saifee Signs Quick Turnaround Saved Aldine ISD’s Opening Game at W.W. Thorne Stadium

Background

Durotech approached us with an urgent project for Aldine ISD's W.W. Thorne Stadium after their original sign fabricator failed to meet expectations. The previous fabricator made several errors in the signage that left the client dissatisfied, leading them to seek a new partner who could quickly correct the issues. With only a week left before the stadium's opening game, Saifee Signs stepped in to deliver. We were tasked with fabricating and installing 10 signs within this tight timeframe, ensuring the project was completed to the client's satisfaction.

What We Need To Accomplish

Ensure the fabrication and installation of 10 6mm ACM signage with digital prints in time for Aldine ISD’s W.W. Thorne Stadium opening game.

How We Did It

To begin, we conducted an on-site survey at W.W. Thorne Stadium to assess the installation conditions and ensure we could successfully complete the job within the tight timeline. Recognizing the urgency of the project, we immediately expedited the process and worked overtime to meet the deadline. Initially, we planned to install the signs by Thursday, the day of the opening game, but the client requested an even earlier completion to allow a full day buffer for potential adjustments or complications.

This request left us with just four business days to fabricate and install the signage. On top of that, we had to navigate challenging weather conditions, as rain was forecasted throughout the week. Despite the forecast, we strategically planned installation time slots around the weather and began fabricating the signage on 6mm ACM with digital prints—a solution chosen for its speed and durability to meet the tight deadline.

To maximize efficiency, we delivered the signs in two batches: the first in the morning and the second in the afternoon. Our installer dedicated the entire day to the job, working from 9 a.m. until nearly midnight, which is 15 hours, to ensure everything was installed in time before the deadline. Thanks to our team's dedication and careful planning, we successfully completed the project on schedule, ensuring Aldine ISD's W.W. Thorne Stadium was ready for the opening game.

Results

Aldine ISD and Durotech were extremely satisfied with the outcome of the project. Despite the tight four-day timeline and ongoing rain, we successfully delivered and installed all 10 signs ahead of schedule. By completing the installation a day before the opening game, we ensured the client had ample time to address any last-minute concerns, giving them peace of mind. The signage met their expectations, and our ability to adapt quickly and efficiently to both the timeline and weather conditions reinforced their confidence in our work. The project’s success helped ensure a smooth and well-prepared opening day at W.W. Thorne Stadium.
