Abbott Laboratories

How Saifee Signs Transformed Healthcare Offices into Welcoming Spaces

Background

The project started with Abbott Global’s procurement team in France, who wanted to create a more comforting and welcoming atmosphere for patients in medical settings. Their client, Bloodworks Northwest, a prominent medical lab in Renton, Washington, became the focus of this initiative. The idea was simple yet impactful: use vinyl wraps to give medical machines a friendlier, less clinical look. By doing this, Abbott aimed to make healthcare environments feel less intimidating and more calming, helping patients feel at ease during their visits.

What We Need To Accomplish

The objective was to redesign the clinical appearance of medical machines, making them more visually welcoming and less intimidating for patients. This required developing custom vinyl wraps that enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the equipment while adhering to strict healthcare standards for functionality and durability.

How We Did it

The success of this project hinged on precise coordination and attention to detail at every stage. After being commissioned by Abbott Global’s central procurement team in France, our first task was to thoroughly understand the project’s vision: transforming the appearance of medical machines to make them more inviting for patients, while still adhering to healthcare standards. We began by collaborating with Abbott to finalize the design requirements, ensuring the vinyl wraps would be both aesthetically appealing and durable enough for a medical setting. This involved selecting high-quality materials that could withstand frequent cleaning and disinfecting, without compromising the look or functionality of the machines.

Once the design was approved, our team at Saifee Signs in Houston moved quickly to begin production. Using state-of-the-art printing technology, we created custom wraps with precise measurements to fit each machine perfectly, ensuring a seamless application. The designs were printed on medical-grade vinyl, chosen for its durability, cleanliness, and ability to adhere flawlessly to the surface of the equipment.

Logistics played a crucial role in this project. After production, the vinyl wraps were carefully packed and shipped to Seattle, where Super Graphics, our trusted installation partner, took over. Their team applied the wraps to the machines at Bloodworks Northwest, ensuring each one was installed without wrinkles, bubbles, or imperfections. The application process required great skill and precision to ensure the wraps fit the machines flawlessly, enhancing their appearance while maintaining full functionality.

Results

The results of the project exceeded expectations, leaving both Abbott Global and Bloodworks Northwest highly satisfied. The custom vinyl wraps not only met the design and functional requirements but also created the welcoming atmosphere the clients envisioned. Bloodworks Northwest reported overwhelmingly positive feedback from staff and patients, who appreciated the warmer, more inviting environment. Abbott Global praised the flawless execution of the project, highlighting the seamless coordination and attention to detail across all teams involved. The high-quality wraps adhered perfectly to the machines and maintained their durability under the demanding conditions of a medical facility. Overall, the client was extremely pleased with the outcome, acknowledging that the project achieved its goal of enhancing patient comfort and elevating the visual appeal of the healthcare space.
